Two terrorists were killed and an army jawan martyred during a gunfight between terrorists & joint security forces at J&K’s Behrampora area of Sopore in Baramulla district on Friday morning. Defence Sources said Lance Naik Brajesh Kumar, succumbed to the splinter injuries sustained during the operation. The identity of the slain terrorists is being ascertained.

The gunfight started after Joint forces of Army, Special Operations Group of J&K Police and CRPF launched cordon and search operation in the area after receiving specific information about the presence of terrorists in the area.

As the forces zeroed in on the suspected spot, the hiding terrorists opened fire triggering the gunfight.
