President Ram Nath Kovind reached Tajikistan on three-day visit to Central Asian Country

President Ram Nath Kovind has reached Tajikistan on a three-day visit to Central Asian Country. After arrival at state capital Dushanbe this afternoon, the President was received by Deputy Prime Minister of Tajikistan Zokirzoda Mahmad Toir.
Minister of State for Defence Shubhash Bhamre and Rajya Sabha member Shamsher Singh Manhas are also part of the president’s official delegation. Mr Kovind will be given Indian Community reception at Swami Vivekanand Cultural Centre this evening and will address the Indian Diaspora there.

Ceremonial Welcome of the President will take place tomorrow after which he will hold talks with the top leadership of Tajikistan to strengthen ties between the two nations. Ministry of External Affairs said that Mr Kovind will meet his Tajik counterpart Emamoli Rahmon, Speaker of Parliament Shukurjon Zuhurov, and Speaker of the Lower House (Majlisi Namoyandagon) of Parliament. Tajik Prime Minister Qohir Rasulzoda will also call on the President.

All areas of bilateral, regional and multilateral cooperation are expected to be discussed during President’s visit to Tajikistan. During his 3 day tour, Mr. Kovind will also visit the Tajik National University where he will deliver an address on ‘Countering Radicalization: Challenges in Modern Societies’. He will also pay his respects to Mahatma Gandhi and Rabindranath Tagore at their memorials in Dushanbe.
