NSD LogoIn Jammu & Kashmir, security forces launched massive cordon and search operation (CASO) in half a dozen villages in south Kashmir’s Shopian district early morning today.Security sources said the operation was launched on the basis of presence of armed terrorists in the areas under CASO. There was no report of any encounter with terrorists or clashes between locals and security forces so far.

The authorities suspended high-speed mobile 3G & 4G internet services in south Kashmir region ahead of the upcoming civic polls in the Valley beginning tomorrow.
The mobile internet services have been suspended in four districts of Anantnag, Kulgam, Pulwama and Shopian since last evening.

Reports said 2G internet and broadband services remained operational in the region with intermittent disruption.
