Madhyapradesh Governor Smt. Anandiben Patel told students of Kanya Ashram to concentrate on their studies and issued instructions
to conduct their regular health check-ups every month. She was addressing students of Kanya Ashram at Pachmarhi in Hoshangabad district today.
The students of the Ashram recited poems in front of the Governor and gave dance performance on a Chhattisgarhi song.
They also performed Surya Namaskar.
The Governor asked questions of General Knowledge to the students to which they gave correct answers.
Governor Smt. Patel gifted the girls with fruit baskets and chocolates. The girls presented the Governor with tribal mementos.
Sharing her experiences with the students Governor Smt. Patel said that she had to travel 300 kms away from her village for primary education.
She was the only girl among 800 boys in the Middle School in which she got admission.
The Governor later visited Raj Bhavan and Bison Lodge situated in Pachmarhi. She also
reviewed the Wildlife Museum of Satpura Tiger Reserve.
MLA Shri Thakurdas Nagvanshi apprised the Governor with the information about the
proposal of extending the residential school upto Class XII. Smt. Patel assured to make special efforts in connection with this proposal.
