In Bihar, former social and welfare Minister Manju Verma today surrendered before a Manjhual court of Begusarai district in connection with arms act associated with Muzaffarpur shelter home sex scandal case. The court sent her for 14 days judicial custody. Ms Verma has been evading arrest ever since the recovery of illegal ammunition from her residence in Begusarai on August 17. The ammunition were seized during CBI raid in connection with Muzaffarpur shelter case. The Supreme Court had pulled up Bihar police for not arresting Verma even after her anticipatory bail application was dismissed by the Patna High Court on October 9. Her husband Chandrasekhar Verma had already surrendered before court on October 10.

A close aide of Brajesh Thakur, the kingpin of Muzaffarpur Shelter home sex scandal, Madhu also surrendered before Muzaffarpur court. She has also been sent for 14 days judicial custody.
