Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday said the use of new techniques has started changing the farming scenario in the country. Farmers will now become power generators with the help of new technologies, he said.

Mr. Modi was speaking after inaugurating the three-day ‘Krishi Kumbh 2018’ in Lucknow through video conferencing.

Prime Minister said that farmers of the country are now using technologies like solar pumps and solar panels for optimum use of their land. He said they are not only saving money but also selling power to the grid.

Mr. Modi said, Krishi Kumbh 2018 will open new avenues for farmers in coming days. He said that after the green revolution, the country is heading towards the path of white, sweet and blue revolution.

Mr. Modi called upon agriculture scientists and experts to use this event to find a technology-related solution so that farmers and environment both are benefited.

Our correspondent reports that 3-day long Krishi Kumbh is having Haryana and Jharkhand as partner states and Japan and Israel as partner countries.
