Prime Minister Narendra Modi today said that the government is committed to the welfare of the farmers and constantly working for creating a world class market for them. Mr Modi was speaking at a public gathering at Rohtak in Haryana after laying foundation stone of a Railway Refurbishing Factory.
Highlighting Centre’s initiatives for the welfare of farmers and traders, Mr Modi said, the doors of banks have been opened for them so that they do not have to depend on money lenders.He said, government has been constantly working to ensure that farmers get remunerative prices for their crops.
Referring to the Rail Coach Factory, Mr. Modi said, the project will create employment and boost industrial development in Haryana. The Rail Coach Refurbishing and Rehabilitation Factory will be set up at a cost of 500 crore rupees at Barhi in Sonipat district.
Earlier the Prime Minister unveiled the 64-Feet tall statue of Deenbandhu Sir Chhotu Ram, ideolouge of peasants and popularly known as messiah of farmers. He said laying of foundation stone of Rail coach factory at Sonipat is the real tribute to Sir Chhotu Ram.
Starting his speech in Haryanvi language Mr. Modi said, he is lucky that today he has got the opportunity to unveil the largest statue of Sir Chhotu Ram and on October 31 he would unveil the largest statue of Sardar Vallabh Bahai Patel.
