In Punjab, at least 15 people were killed this evening after a crowd celebrating Dussehra that had spilled onto railway track while watching burning of Ravana effigy was run over by a train near Jaura Phatak in Amritsar. Officials said, the train was coming from Jalandhar to Amritsar.
Amritsar, Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police, Lakhbir Singh said 15 bodies have been found. He said, the toll is likely to rise. Police and administration have reached the spot. More details are awaited.
