Solar Energy is an effective option to save Environment: CM Chouhan

The Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has said that solar energy is not energy of future but it has become energy of today. Madhya Pradesh has established its image in the entire country in production of renewable energy. Shri Chouhan was inaugurating the first Government Roof Top Solar Energy Plant of 200 K.W. capacity installed on the building of Madhya Pradesh Board of Secondary Education here today. The plant costing Rs. One crore 20 lakh has started producing electricity.

CM Shri Chouhan further mentioned that Solar Energy is the only effective option to save environment. Work to generate solar energy through solar panels has been started in the government buildings. Cost of solar energy plant is recovered within a period of 3 to 4 years. He stated that the first such solar energy plant of the World has been set up at Rewa, which has energy production cost of Rs. 2 and 97 paisa.

Moreover, Shri Chouhan said that every citizen must plant one sapling for environment conservation and protect it. He mentioned that it is a beginning to save environment and to save life. A plantation campaign is being started from July 15 in the state. Shri Chouhan praised the work of Board of Secondary Education for providing furniture in schools and to increase infrastructure. He informed that the Board of Secondary Education will run 3 more schools. Shri Chouhan lauded the Board for its initiative to bestow awards to 5 schools with best results. He also honoured officers-employees of the Board for their excellent work.

Chairman of Board of Secondary Education Shri R.S. Mohanti has informed that owing to the efforts of the Chief Minister, Madhya Pradesh has achieved the first position in the country today in production of renewable energy. He mentioned that various online services have been provided by the Board of Secondary Education to the children and the Board has taken initiative to produce solar energy by deriving benefit from the government’s policy.

Minister for School Education Kunwar Vijay Shah, Minister of State for Renewable Energy Shri Narayan Singh Kushwaha, Minister of State for Technical Education Shri Deepak Joshi, Vice Chairman of Board of Secondary Education Shri Bhagirath Kumrawat, Member Shri Bhavsar, Chairman of Urja Vikas Nigam Shri Vijendra Singh Sisodiya, Principal Secretary Renewable Energy Shri Manu Shrivastava, Principal Secretary School Education Smt. Deepti Gour Mukherjee and Commissioner Public Instruction Smt. Jayshree Kiyawat were present on the occasion.
